Mother's Day and Father's Day always bring out the handmade gifts. Over the years the artwork has marked the passage of time, the kids fine motor skills changes and the reality of how much bigger they are getting.

Handprint artwork has been a staple for our household. It's easy for all of the kids to participate in - even the littlest ones! This year the kids did two variations - one for their dad and one for their grandpa. The perk... I could grab both handprints quickly at the same time - then cut apart for the two different art projects. This is especially helpful if you have multiple grandparents, and great-grandparents but a child who would struggle to maintain the attention span to complete four or five different projects! We let the kids choose their paint color to give it some personality. You could also have your older ones write the fun phrases as well!
