2025 Favorite Board Games for the Whole Family

We are hitting a new family milestone of having multiple kids able and wanting to play board games together. We love the real life skills that board games provide in a screen free way. We have kids ranging from two to six years old. Here are four of our favorite games that the whole family can play and enjoy!
Habba's My First Orchard
We love this game for its durability and collaborative play! This goal of this collaborative game is to gather all of the fruit in the orchard before the crow reaches the gate. The game encourages learning the basics of taking turns while meeting the abilities of the youngest players. The wooden game pieces (pictured above) and large dice are not choking hazards and are easy for even the youngest to handle. This game also is a great introduction to games. If the youngest in the bunch loses their focus and moves on to another activity - no problem! Everyone is working together to get to the goal so its easy to move onto the next person without having to restart the whole game.
Hoot Owl Hoot!
We love this game for its ability to increase its difficulty level. The goal of the game is to get the owls back to their nest before the sun rises. The game is a cooperative one and provides flexibility in gameplay- you can choose between 3 and 6 owls. The game focuses on color recognition and turn taking. It usually is roughly a fifteen minute game.
Candy Land
We love the classic Candy Land. The game works on turn taking, color recognition and also starts the process of learning how to win and lose. The cards get well loved on-but usually you can find this one on sale!
Sequence Kids
This game is a modified version of the classic game Sequence. It uses fun loving animals instead of a deck of cards. The goal of the game is to get four in a row. The game practices turn taking, matching and starts to introduce strategy to our youngest game players. When our youngest are playing- we start by drawing one card per turn. The kids start to use strategy and problem solving to best select the animal-since there are two of each. As that is mastered, you can slowly increase each player's hand to include two, then three cards. With the increase in cards comes the increase in gaming strategy.
